This year, four one-hour performances of “The Nutcracker” are scheduled Monday and Tuesday, December 10 and 11, 2018, at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM at the Kimball Theater. This shortened version of the Nutcracker story takes place during the magical party when Klara receives her beloved Nutcracker and then several divertissements from the Land of Sweets entertain us. A lively scene follows with the Nutcracker and his soldiers battling the Mouse King and his mice. Finally, the Snow Queen and her King dance with their Snowflakes.

Partial funding from the Williamsburg Area Arts Commission, York County Arts Commission, Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts allows VRB to offer reduced rates for school performances at $5 per student; $5 per chaperone (limited to 1 chaperone per 12 students), and $5 per Home School Parent-Teacher. School Teachers attend at no charge.

Providing this cultural event for your students is one of the high points in our performing season. This year new choreography and costumes will make this production even more exciting.

To make reservations for one of these performances please complete the form below. Or, click here for the letter and form. Please email Virginia Regional Ballet at performances@dancevrb.com for assistance or more information.

We must receive your reservation request form by Monday, November 5, 2018. A reservation contract will be emailed to the point of contact as soon as your reservation request has been processed. Full payment is due by December 1, 2018.

Virginia Regional Ballet, a not-for-profit organization comprising Virginia Regional Ballet Academy’s most promising students and area professionals, will be performing Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” under the artistic direction of Heidi Robitshek. Former Artistic Director of the Chamber Ballet for 35 years, Heidi Robitshek’s Nutcracker production has been a Williamsburg tradition for 40 years. Virginia Regional Ballet will present an abbreviated version of this Christmas classic this coming December. We know that it is difficult to schedule as many cultural arts events for your students as you would like, so let us help you inspire a love for the arts in your students through the magic of this beloved ballet.

Thank you for supporting the Virginia Regional Ballet and Heidi Robitshek’s 41st annual production of “The Nutcracker.”
