Matinees for Schools

As part of Virginia Regional Ballet's community and educational outreach programs, VRB presents an abbreviated version of The Nutcracker each December for schools. This shortened version of the Nutcracker story takes place during the magical party when Klara receives her beloved Nutcracker and several divertissements from the Land of Sweets entertain the Stahlbaums and their guests. A lively scene follows with the Nutcracker and his soldiers battling the Mouse King and his mice. Finally, the Snow Queen and her King dance with their Snowflakes.
