Summary of The Nutcracker:
The Nutcracker is a beloved holiday ballet that has delighted audiences for generations. The story begins on Christmas Eve, when young Klara receives a beautiful Nutcracker doll as a gift. That night, she is swept into a magical adventure — the Nutcracker comes to life and bravely leads Klara through an epic battle with the mischievous Mouse King. After the battle is won, the Nutcracker transforms into a handsome prince and guides Klara through the sparkling Land of Snow to the enchanting Land of the Sweets.
There, they are greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier and enjoy a series of dazzling dances called divertissements. Each dance features a different treat or culture, including Spanish Chocolate, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea, Russian Trepak, Mirliton (Marzipan), Candy Canes, the playful Mother Gigogne and her children, the lively Tirolese, and the breathtaking Waltz of the Flowers.
With Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable music, The Nutcracker offers a magical experience for audiences of all ages and has become one of the most cherished holiday traditions.
✨ FAQ – Everything You Need to Know Before You Go! ✨
What to Expect
Our production runs about 2.5 hours (including a short intermission) — just enough time to enjoy the magic without missing dinner plans.
What to Wear
The ballet is your perfect excuse to dress to impress! Wear your Sunday best, your favorite festive outfit, or that look you’ve been saving for a special occasion.
What NOT to wear: We won’t tell you what to do, but maybe skip the hats, sweatpants, and flip-flops. Think of it this way: if Grandma would disapprove of you wearing it to church, it’s probably not your best ballet outfit.
